Breeder's notes:
April Moon is one of my favorite Buck shrubs. In my garden, it's always in bloom and is simply beautiful! MORcrest is the first of Ralph Moore's crested breeding roses. In this series, the sepals are exaggerated, like those of Crested Moss. MORcrest isn't registered and has never been released for sale. Its parentage is Crested Jewel (Little Darling X Crested Moss) X STW1 (Soeur Therese X Wilhelm).

For quite a few years, this flowered mainly one to the stem and grew as a bushy HT type. Not any more! It has developed into a climber, flowering in large clusters of its lacy buds. They are long and urn shaped, with long, lacy sepals. The flower is double, opening wide and flat, in varying shades of carmine to carmine pink. There is a strong, sweet fragrance. It was my goal to introduce Mr. Moore's crested sepals into larger, more modern rose plants. This one represents the best of my efforts to date. I plan to use it further toward that goal.
