Found Rose, Gallica / Provins, Hybrid China.  
Bloom:
Mauve or purple blend.  Redish purple deepening to royal purple.  Mild, old rose, spice, sweet fragrance.  up to 100 petals.  Medium, very full (41+ petals), cluster-flowered, reflexed bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  Medium, rounded buds.  
Habit:
Medium, few or no prickles/thorns, suckers on its own roots.  Semi-glossy foliage.  

Height: 4' to 6' (120 to 185cm).  Width: up to 5½' (up to 165cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 9b.  Can be used for pillar.  Suitable for a pillar.  Needs little care; relatively disease-free and quite hardy.  Prune after flowering is finished.  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
Christiane Frost identifies "Brooks Gallica" as 'Frederic II de Prusse,' a hybrid china.

Others suggest "Brooks Gallica" may be the same rose as "Red Runaround" or as "Mary Lawrance's Shell Rose."
