Bred by George Mander (Canada, 1983).
Introduced in Canada by Select Roses in 2006 as 'Mander's Nutkana # 1'.

Hybrid Nutkana, Shrub.  

Dark red.  Flowers red/crimson; reverse light red.  Moderate fragrance.  Average diameter 4.5".  Medium, full (26-40 petals), cluster-flowered, in small clusters bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  

Tall, bushy.  Large, semi-glossy, medium green foliage.  

Height: 7' to 8' (215 to 245cm).  

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Can be used for cut flower or garden.  Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood..  

Superbly colored foliage and hips in the fall; no rebloom
