Introduced in Australia by Treloar Roses in 2015 as 'Gallipoli Centenary Rose'.
Introduced in United States by Newflora™ LLC in 2015 as 'Desmond Tutu'.
Class:
Floribunda, Shrub.  
Bloom:
Dark red.  Mild fragrance.  42 to 48 petals.  Average diameter 4".  Large, very full (41+ petals), borne mostly solitary, cluster-flowered, in small clusters, cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Long, pointed, ovoid buds.  
Habit:
Bushy, compact, upright.  Semi-glossy, medium green, leathery foliage.  5 to 7 leaflets.  

Height: up to 3' (up to 90cm).  Width: up to 30" (up to 75cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

‘KORtutu’ was the resultant seedling from a cross between the seed parent ‘NOAwel’ and the pollen parent ‘KORtocrea’ in May 2000 at the breeding facility of W. Kordes Sohne in Sparrieshoop, Germany. The seedling was selected in May 2001 and was budded onto Rosa canina planted in the open field. Follow up selections took place in 2002 and 2007 and was commercially introduced in September 2008. Breeder: Wilhelm Kordes.

The new variety of rose plant of the present invention originated from a controlled crossing in a breeding program of two distinct parents during the summer of 2000. The crossing was between an unnamed seedling from the same breeder, and another unnamed seedling.
Notes:
Re-Christened on May 22, 2010 on Gut Langerwisch, Germany by Ute Freudenberg, who sang the song "Jugendliebe" (Youth love) in 1979.
