"This magenta-coloured mutation of 'Merci' will add to the sweetheart assortment enriching the selection with another interesting variety. With impressive flowering and production qualities 'Chic' belongs in the top sweetheart group demonstrating convincing characteristics even under modest growing conditions."

Kordes website says it really is a sport of 'Merci', but is there another, newer one?

Edit: There is. It is called: KORamasti

"This velvet red rose should become one of the top sweetheart varieties in the future. The productivity, vase life, as well as the handling characteristics of ‘Merci’® are outstanding. Perhaps a name like ‘Red Frisco’® would describe this variety perfectly. This variety stands out by its excellent production and its extraordinary characteristics in cultivation, transport and vaselife. Merci can be regarded as red Frisco."

Oops, sorry. I wasn't clear. I meant in relation to this rose not being a sport of the Warriner version.
