Discovered by Walter Schowalter (Canada, circa 1966).

Growing:
USDA zone 3a and warmer.  Very hardy.  
Breeder's notes:
Found by Walter Schowalter on property of J. Ganda. 8 miles S.E. of Hayter [Alberta Canada] twp 38, Range 1 about 1 mile West of the Saskatchewan border. There was a whole patch of these roses bearing hips of a measured diameter of up to one inch (2.6cm).
