Origin:
Bred by Percy H. Wright (Canada, before 1960). Bred by Walter Schowalter (Canada, circa 1966).
Class:
Shrub.  
Bloom:
Rose-Pink to mauve.  Large, double (17-25 petals) bloom form.  Spring or summer flush with scattered later bloom.  
Habit:
Medium.  5 to 7 leaflets.  

Height: up to 4' (up to 120cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 3a and warmer.  Hardy.  
Breeder's notes:
Percy Wright gave W Schowalter 46 seedlings to grow out; this is a selection from these.

"Lower growing plant to 1.5m. Produces fully double rose-pink to mauve blooms of almost hybrid tea form but unfortunately petals are soft and do not weather well. Blooms profusely in late spring with some recurrence rest of season. Suckers some after reaching full maturity. Leaflets mostly 7. Bush 4' tall. Primocanes thorny, all others smooth. Wood reddish brown. Leaves rugosa type. leaflets 5 - 7, medium size. Blossoms medium size, double to 3 1/2" deep rose pink, good HT form before widely open." [WS notes]
