Bourbon, Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Dark red, purple shading.  Opinions vary fragrance.  Average diameter 3".  Large, full (26-40 petals), cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Plant in partial shade for best color.  prefers warmer sites.  Disease susceptibility: susceptible to Mildew, susceptible to rust .  
Notes:
Declared synonym of 'Baron de Bonstetten' in 1886. - see References. In fact, it is a similar rose.
