'Beverly ®' rose Reviews & Comments

I planted own root Beverly bushes in 2016. They did not perform with distinction until 2019 but then they bloomed in lovely flushes. Our Colorado weather is cold, variable, and our beetle infestation is not to be believed. These roses have survived.

I have heard the Kordes bred roses get larger than the stated size in many areas of the USA, because of our hotter temps and longer growing seasons, as compared to Germany where these roses originate. Do others concur?

Size estimate may be correct for the temperate climate but is grossly underestimated for the warmer climate, as is often the case with roses. My Beverly bushes in Athens, Greece have grown to approx. 2m high by 1.2m wide in just a few years. One can keep them somewhat smaller by pruning but by the end of the growing season they will have grown back large. This is a very vigorous HT given good cultivation.
I can also attest to the fact that this rose does not like humid / wet weather due to its petals thin substance.
Also, why zone 8b? This is a rose that can perform well to at least zone 9b/10a

Gained height this year (1.80 m), but alas the blooms ball badly in cool rainy weather.
