Bred by Herbert C. Swim (United States, 1947).
Introduced in United States by Armstrong Nursery in 1947 as 'Nocturne'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1949 as 'Nocturne'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Crimson, red shading.  Nasturtium fragrance.  Moderate, clove, spice fragrance.  20 to 28 petals.  Average diameter 4.5".  Large, very double, cupped, reflexed bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Long, pointed buds.  
Habit:
Bushy, upright.  Dark green, leathery foliage.  

Height: 4' (120cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 7b and warmer.  Can be used for cut flower or garden.  Vigorous.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.
