I was given a plant of Sven to test grow in the Vancouver Canada area. This has been an excellent garden rose for me. It flowers all season, shows superb vigor and never gives me trouble with disease under no spray conditions. I love how the older flowers shed freely and noticed it produces wonderful red decorative hips that colour up early fall. I love its bright colour and reliable nature. If you like this style of rose, sven would please any gardener. A perfect rose for mixed garden plantings!

In an email with an hybridizier-friend, that person reveals:
"The little rose is Kathy Zuzek's from the U of MN here's introduction called Sven. It is a polyantha and is diploid. Mrs. Nathalie Nypels is one parent and the other is a single white rose that looks like a polyantha that was a stray seedling at the MN Landscape Arboretum garden. "
