 President Herbert Hoover.   Sensation x Souvenir de Claudius Pernet.  Hybrid Tea (L. B. Coddington, 1929).
The blooms are copper-red with lustrous orange-red, bright pink and yellow shades;   they are large, well formed, open, long-lasting, and borne on long, strong stems.   The light fragrance, somewhat like the scent of horseradish, is distinctive.   The sparse, leathery leaves are prone to mildew.  The habit of growth is tall and lanky, so very light pruning is inadvisable.   There are few better roses for cutting, especially in early autumn.

Le Groupe den Pernetiana, dans lequel se trouvent, la plupart des roses nouvelles, est celui qui donne les moins bons résultats. Les plants redoutent la chaleur et poussent très mal ou disparaissent après un ou deux ans de plantation. Les suivantes sont tout de même à conseiller : — Président Hoower, rouge cerise et jaune ocré.
