Bred by Monsieur (Dr.) Cartier (France, before 1821).
Class:
Gallica / Provins.  
Bloom:
Crimson, crimson streaks, stripes, flecks, purple highlights.  Velvety.  Medium, very full (41+ petals), ruffled bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.

Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).

Notes:
Possibly distinct roses. Raucourt is said to be related to 'Pourpre sans pareil'.
