Beautiful, very vigorous and healthy rose, however, I found a certain sensitivity to cold and problems with the flowers that are eaten by cetonias. Perhaps the colors of the flowers attract these insects a lot. I do not recommend this rose in the plains of northern Italy because it is always infested with this insect. Even 4/5 individuals per flower.(Oxythyrea funesta).

I have problem uploading photos. I select photo with Browse button and UPLOAD, then comes back to the same screen before selecting photo.

Will grow in light shade in my zone, 10a. near the pacific ocean. Reve D'or will climb in a tree if trained. No hip removal necessary! EXTREMELY fast grower, give her plenty of room! Always clean and disease free. AMAZING ROSE!

I've seen a lot of these ARS numbers being thrown around recently. Exactly what do they mean?

10 is a perfect score, so when the ARS rated this rose, they believed it darn close to the ideal rose.

Ah, so not necessarily relevant to people who want good, trouble-free, garden shrubs.

Oh gosh, I hate to disagree with Mr. Rippetoe! But . . . .

The ARS 2017 Handbook for Selecting Roses says these ratings are "not only the national garden performance rating, but also data on classification, color, number of petals and date of registration or introduction. Every rose in commerce that has a current garden performance rating, easily the majority of the varieties in this listing, has been included. In addition, roses that did not earn ratings but that are carried by a number of nurseries are included. Finally, new introductions that have not yet had an opportunity to earn a rating are shown." (In each case, the ARS printed the word GARDEN in bold.). ARS members are encouraged to download a Roses in Review each year asking for garden input first, in many categories. There's an optional short questionnaire at the bottom for exhibition input. They stress that part is optional.

I use the ARS rating second to the comments on Help Me Find when purchasing new roses. It can be a big investment so all the available information guides me.

Rob, I follow your rose breeding efforts, along with others, and appreciate how much you all share on the topic. Such fascinating plants!

These comments go back several years.

I'm sure ARS has improved it's ratings systems by now.

Heaven knows I griped about it and spent enough time filling out surveys as to how they might improve the system.

If they have improved the system I applaud the effort.

Now if only ARS would have more categories for the modern reproduction roses aka Romanticas, Austins, etc.. it's frustrating to go to a show with two dozen roses and hardly any place to enter them, but the Holy Hybrid Tea is everywhere.

Solomon in all his glory was not clothed as one of these. The ARS doesn't seem to agree.
