Discovered by E.H. Wilson (China, 1903).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1921 as 'R. moyesii'.

Red.  5 petals.  Large, single (4-8 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.

Arching, armed with thorns / prickles, bushy, spreading.  Matte, dark green foliage.  11 leaflets.  
Height of 6½' to 10' (200 to 305 cm).  Width of up to 6' (up to 185 cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 5b and warmer.  Vigorous.  shade tolerant.
