Agatha.  (Francofurtana Agathe). (gallica).  This rose is highly scented, and deep purple in colour.  When fully open the irregular petals form a loose quartered effect reminiscent of crumpled crêpe paper. More vigorous than it’s close relative ‘Empress Josephine’.  Pre 1820.  p. Pot. (S) 4 x 4’.

Agathe Incarnata.  (Francofurtana Agathe) (gallica) Relatively thornless this rose is semi-double and scented being purple-pink in colour with pronounced stamens. When fully open the petals are rather irregular and crepe paper texture. More vigorous than its close relative’Empress Josephine’. pre 1820. • (S) 5 x 4.
