Notes:

Subgenus Hesperhodos. First collected in 1897.
Subgenus Hesperhodos has two species: Rosa stellata and Rosa minutifolia. Rosa stellata in turn has three subspecies: stellata, mirifica and abyssa.

The name Rosa stellata var. myrifica (Greene) Cockerell (1914) is a misspelling of the name proposed by Greene, which was Rosa mirifica.
