Fairly decent garden rose, but can suffer from severe blackspot some years. Nice flowers, great color.

Note to hybridizers: 'Sequoia Ruby' is one of the most willing seed parents you could possibly choose. It takes any pollen and gives seeds that germinate at near 100% every time. Although it tends to breed a lot of offspring that have a self-similar growth habit, it can do wonderful things if you want to match it to a difficult-to-breed pollen parent. It is very much inclined to produce a wide range of colors in its progeny.

Thanks Paul. I've got it. I'm waiting for it to gain size before attempting it for seed. I used it a tiny bit for pollen last year.

Here is the result. So far it's a mini.

This cross doubles up on 'Golden Glow', probably not a bad thing.
