Bred by Dr. Walter Van Fleet (United States, before 1900).
Introduced in United States by Conard-Pyle (Star Roses) in 1900 as 'Sir Thomas Lipton'.

Bloom:
White, light pink shading.  Mild to strong fragrance.  Large, very double, flat bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.

Climbing.  
Height of 5' to 8' (150 to 245 cm).  Width of up to 5' (up to 150 cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 4b and warmer.  Very vigorous.  shade tolerant.  Disease susceptibility: disease resistant, susceptible to blackspot .
