'Stanwell Perpetual'. So far as scanty records relate, this was a self-sown seedling rose found in a garden or hedgerow in Stanwell, Middlesex, and was propagated and put on the market by the famous nurseryman Lee of Hammersmith in 1838.....

(Pimpinellifoliae) Lee, UK, 1838. R. x damascena bifera x R. pimpinellifolia. Prickly, arching, numerous, greyish-green leaves, sometimes becoming mottled-purple as though diseased. Long flowering season. Flowers: fully-double, quartered, soft blush-pink, scented. 5' x 5'.

Stanwell Perpetual (Hybrid spinosissima) A prickly arching shrub, which blooms all Summer with an array of medium sized blush pink to white flowers.  Double and very fragrant.  1838.  W. Shade tolerant. (C) 5 x 5’.
