Red, violet shading, ages to violet . Strong fragrance. 100 petals. Average diameter 3". Medium to large, very full (41+ petals), button-eye, expanded bloom form. Once-blooming spring or summer.
Short, compact, sends out runners, upright.
Height of 3' to 7' (90 to 215 cm). Width of 3' to 39" (90 to 100 cm).
USDA zone 4b through 9a. Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood.. Prune after flowering is finished.
'Belle de Crécy' in commerce and gardens today is different than the early descriptions.
