Origin:
Bred by Mauget (France, 1827).
Class:
China / Bengale.  
Bloom:
Red to crimson, purple shading.  Mild fragrance.  30 to 50 petals.  Medium, moderately full, ruffled bloom form.  Glandular sepals buds.

Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).

Notes:
Charles X (1757-1836) was King of France from 1824-1830.
Possibly identical with the Noisete by Vibert, as an early reference calls it both Noisette and Bengal.
