The plant is so delicate this bloom came off as I handled it to sniff it. I brought it indoors and let it float in a diminutive soy sauce dish. May 2020, SE England.

Found rose "Ellie Martin", probably Sweet Fairy. Dense cluster of blooms mid-summer. South Australia, zone 9. The flowers gain a lilac tinge as they age. The scent includes what David Austin called myrrh (I'm not one of its fans).
It has prickles but so does the 1971 illustration.

Grown in the bowl of a disused rice cooker; about 20cm high. This is a grafted plant from Rosenschulen Ruf. I wonder what it's grafted on. SE England, May 2020.
