Bred by Tim Hermann Kordes (Germany, 1998).
Introduced in Germany by W. Kordes' Söhne (Retail) in 2009 as 'Purple Rain'.
Class:
Shrub.  
Bloom:
Purple blend.  Mild fragrance.  65 to 70 petals.  Average diameter 1.75".  Small to medium, very full (41+ petals), in small clusters, rosette bloom form.  Continuous (perpetual) bloom throughout the season.  Small, leafy sepals, pointed, ovoid buds.  
Habit:
Arching, bushy.  Semi-glossy foliage.  5 to 7 leaflets.  
Height of 16" to 20" (40 to 50 cm).  Width of up to 28" (up to 70 cm).
Growing:
Disease susceptibility: very blackspot resistant., mildew resistant.

The new variety of rose plant of the present invention originated from a controlled crossing made in a rose breeding program between ‘KORmixal’ a non-patented rose and an ‘un-named seedling’...The new rose plant ‘KORpurlig’ was selected in May, 1999 .
