Notes:
The one reference does not distinguish which 'General Jacqueminot' was the pollen parent.
Général Jacqueminot (Hybrid China, Laffay, 1846) or
Général Jacqueminot (hybrid perpetual, Roussel, 1853)

While Charles Darwin was never knighted, the following website explains in part, why the breeder, Thomas Johnson, named his rose 'Sir Charles Darwin'.
