Origin:
Bred by J. B. Schmitt (Alsace) (France, 1895).
Introduced in Germany by Peter Lambert in 1895 as 'Thalia'.
Class:
Hybrid Multiflora, Rambler.  
Bloom:
White or white blend.  Moderate fragrance.  Small, semi-double to double, in large clusters, flat bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Climbing, thornless (or almost).  Glossy, light green foliage.  
Height of 12' (365 cm).  Width of 8' (245 cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 9b.  Hardy.  very vigorous.

Diploid
Notes:
This is one of the three ramblers Lambert bought from Schmitt and commercialized under his own name.
Seed parent Rosa polyantha sarmenteux was a R. multiflora-type with double blooms, possibly also the parent of Paquerette.
