Origin:
Bred by Victor Verdier (France, 1862).
Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1873 as 'La Brillante'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Crimson.  Medium, double (17-25 petals), in small clusters bloom form.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles.

Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).

Notes:
Said to be similar to 'Général Jacqueminot'. -see. At the end of the 19th century it was deemed a synonym due to its likeness, however, this is not a synonym in the modern sense.
