'White Delight' rose Reviews & Comments
-
-
I spoke with Jim Mills about White Delight this morning (3/3/2017), he said that he had no idea why White Delight fell out of favor, that it's one of his best roses, that he still has it in his own garden. I told him I need 27 roses for a hedge in Southern California and he said he would be happy to grow them. He buds them in May and they would be available in the fall.
All his roses are grown on Futuriana rootstock. http://www.kandmroses.com/index.htm
If anyone knows where White Delight is currently available, I'd love 27 of them...

It looks you could get a bundle of twigs from UC Davis and see if you can't root them.

I was surprised it wasn't an exhibition favorite. Before Gemini really caught on, you'd see tons of Pristine and similar roses in this color range. Roses with inferior form to White Delight. Heck, you even saw Pascali...more than one should lol.

I see that this rose is listed as having a mild fragrance. I think this should be changed. My nose is not very sensitive, but I can smell this one yards away. It is one of the most fragrant in my garden of 1400.

Both the two suppliers listed, and the Patent say ‘White Delight’ is only mildly scented. If you are getting a stronger scent, then you are a very lucky lady. Enjoy.

I know that some roses have more fragrance at some times and conditions than at others. I would also appreciate hearing from others about their experience with this rose.

This is a pretty decent rose from its decade, coming from 2 horrible parents. Go figure. Its a pretty cool color, though.

White Delight is not listed anymore in the ARS list but I found K&M nursery in Mississippi who grows them. I have ordered 4 plants from them but have not yet received the shipment.

Do you have a phone number, e-mail address, or city in MS where they can be contacted?
Would appreciate. Thanks!

Wendy........
If you click on the "Available At" tab on the rose page for 'White Delight' you would find that the rose is listed as part of the inventory of K & M Nursery. Since they are not a sponsoring nursery for the HelpMeFind site, you will find the name of their nursery listed, but without a link to all of their information. If you click on "Nurseries" on the navigation bar to the left and look them up in that part of the database, you can find the information you are seeking. If you do like this nursery, you might want to encourage them to become a sponsoring nursery and the information would show up on the "Available At" listing for all of the roses included in their inventory.

Dear Lyn,
Thanks for your reply. I did search for the location/contact information in "nurseries" but there is no information for K and M, have tried various phone locators for MS, still no luck. Any other ideas?
Thanks, Wendy

Wendy.......
We have a small glitch in our software and I'll let our webmaster know about it so that it can be corrected. Click on "Nurseries" on the navigation bar to the left, then click on the alphabetical search at the top of the nursery search page. Click on the letter "K" and K & M Nursery's link will come up along with other nurseries which currently have a free listing. Click on their link and the information you are seeking will show on their page.
