White, near white or white blend Grandiflora.Registration name: AROwhif
White. Strong, citrus, lemon fragrance. Average diameter 3.75". Medium-large, full (26-40 petals), cluster-flowered, in small clusters, high-centered, ruffled bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Ovoid buds.
Medium, bushy, upright. Medium, glossy, medium green foliage.
USDA zone 7b and warmer. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that. Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .
According to the New Zealand Plant Variety Rights (PVR) web page, application for a PVR Grant for this rose was made January 16, 1980 and granted May 25, 1981 (PVR Grant No. 118). The breeder's Reference for this rose is Arowhif. The New Zealand Trade Name is 'White Ligntnin'. This PVR Grant expires May 25, 2004.
