'Flaming Zep' rose References
Book (1934) 'Flaming Zep'. (Pernet): Flower glowing tangerine orange-yellow, buds splashed carmine; scented, dark green glossy foliage. Growth erect, free and branching. A sport from 'Mme. Edouard Herriot'. Named 'Flaming Zep' owing to the similarity in colour and glow to a burning Zeppelin airship destroyed in the neighbourhood a few days before the sport appeared. Bed.
Book (1921) Page(s) 137. Walter Easlea. Pernetiana Roses. 'Miss May Marriot' (Robinson). A fine orange gold sport of 'Mme. E. Herriot'. There has appeared three or four sports of a similar character, namely, 'Flaming Zepp', 'Golden Star' and others, but I think this is the best.
Book (1920) Page(s) 128. The Autumn Show. Mr. T. P. Edwards made a great feature of 'Flaming Zep', the fiery orange sport from 'Mme. Edouard Herriot'....
