"Birte Venske No. 2" found by Patricia Routley in 2003 growing under a window of a vacant house in Manjimup, W.A. (recently purchased by Birte Venske) in 2003. It was a low bush (1m?) at the original site.

Superb clean green new foliage in late winter.

Possibly the same as “Red Ethel”.
‘William Orr’ 1930 may be a contender.

‘Lady Charmion’ 1923 is yet to be researched.
‘Mrs. Harold Brookes' Alister Clarke's 1931 HT been discounted because of its new foliage in winter (i.e., May and June).
