This rose survived the Artic Blast at Christmas 2022 and it was barely affected. I did cover each of the 3 roses in a bed, the other two died, but Tupelo Honey only had a couple of dead canes as a result. It sprang back to full life, leafing out as soon as a hint of warm weather arrived in late February and was not affected by a couple of late freezes we got in March and has been going like gangbusters ever since. I live in Oxford, MS, zone 7b.

Tupelo Honey has surprised me in a few ways. It has had vigorous growth from a band, and over a year and a half it has grown 4x4 with unique flopping canes that have lateral growth. Some canes are standing straight. The yellow blooms come in a group of 4-5 and the blooms have really held up to the heat and humidity of Alabama.with minimal disease. This is, in my opinion an exciting, not your everyday rose. I am loving to watch it grow and mature into its natural form. It definitely needs space to do this.

This is a fantastic rose for hot and humid Northwest Florida (Panhandle). It is floriferous, vigorous and well scented. The yellow color holds up in the heat and disease problems are minimal. Highly recommended either own root or grafted onto Fortuniana.
