Origin:
Bred by Larry Dyck (Canada, 2001).
Introduced in Canada by Vineland Research and Innovation Centre in 2017 as 'Canadian Shield'.
Class:
Floribunda.  
Bloom:
Scarlet, lighter reverse.  Mild fragrance.  Average diameter 3".  Medium, very full (41+ petals), in small clusters bloom form.  Moderate, blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Medium, bushy, compact.  Glossy, medium green foliage.  3 to 7 leaflets.  
Height of 4' to 5' (120 to 150 cm).  Width of 3' to 4' (90 to 120 cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 3b and warmer.  Can be used for garden, landscape or specimen.  Very hardy.  vigorous.  Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant, blackspot resistant, mildew resistant.  
Notes:
'Canadian Shield™ is the first of Vineland Research and Innovation Centre's 49th Parallel Collection, and is being introduced by Vineland Research and Innovation Centre in 2017. The release date coincides with the 150th anniversary of the founding of Canada.

This rose is entirely "Made in Canada." It was developed in Morden, Manitoba by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and is the first rose to be released by Vineland Research and Innovation Centre, which operates Canada’s rose breeding company.
