Origin:
Bred by Victor Trouillard (France, 1860).
Introduced in United Kingdom by John Standish / Standish & Noble in 1862 as 'André Desportes'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Deep pink, purple shading.  Purplish rose. Rose-colour.  Strong fragrance.  Large, double (17-25 petals) bloom form.  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
'Eugene Appert', 1959 was also mentioned in a reference as the seed parent.
Brent C. Dickerson (2007 reference) also mentions an 1876 "varying red" 'Andre Desportes'
