I ordered this rose, just out of curiosity, in spring 2017, planted it in a suburb of New Orleans.

It lives up to its billing in the Chamblee's catalog. Very vigorous, stunning in the garden.

Growth habit: low, spreading, shrub or like a shrub, very vigorous
Blooms: so many blossoms I don't bother to count, branches are weighed down by the weight of the flowers
Color: Similar to Gold Medal - starts as an intense yellow gold with a bit of orange edge, fades to pale yellow, then cream
Shape: Starts with a traditional urn shape, as it opens, it transforms into an old garden rose style powderpuff.
Comparison: Julia Child is another good floriferous yellow rose. Julia Child is smaller and more upright and the colors of Julia Child are more uniform. I like Julia Child but I prefer Gaye Hammond because it is a more vigorous, more complex, and more interesting rose.
