Bred by Louis-Joseph-Ghislain Parmentier (Belgium, before 1847).
Class:
Gallica / Provins.  
Bloom:
Red, shading, ages to violet .  Large, double (17-25 petals) bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).

Notes:
Benjamin Mary (1792-1846) was a Belgian diplomat and artist, and nephew to Louis Parmentier, the well-known rose amateur and botanist of Enghien.
