MEG MERRILIES.
(Sweet Briar.)
One of the Hybrid Sweet Briar roses raised by Lord Penzance in 1893. Both foliage and flower are deliciously fragrant. It produces a profusion of bloom during June and July, followed by enormous quantities of scarlet hips. Requires little pruning, and is quite hardy. Recommended or forming impenetrable hedges of great beauty.
