From Wills cigarette cards, Roses – a series of 40 cards. Issued in 1936. No 15. GOLDEN SALMON IMPROVED (Polyantha pompon) Introduced 1930 Bright golden-salmon. This is the best of the golden-salmon coloured Polyanthas and is ideal for bedding or growing in pots. These miniature Polyantha Roses will grow in pots in windows, or a cold greenhouse to perfection, and remain in bloom for very long periods. Very little pruning is required beyond cutting out any dead wood and shortening back early in March, the shoots that have bloomed the previous year. It makes a very pretty Standard.
