3 years old, one of the best roses to have. Balls badly but when it bloom is achingly beautiful.

I will never be able to understand why David Austin disses Lordly Oberon. One of my favorite ones from his usually weak necked family. Glorious shape, tall and wonderful plant, at least 4 shades if not more of pink on each bloom and staying power on the vase. I don't care what the people at Austin's say: this is a keeper.

E.Veyrat Hermanos, it had began to ball when the high 80s hit. He changed his mind and unruffled with a fragrance to die for! When he does it right, he does it right indeed. Lovely rose, wouldn't be without it in spite of all the problems getting one bloom here in Portland.

The secret garden: fig trees and rosemary, bay laurel and roses, birds nesting on the very top of Souvenir de la Malmaison climber, which hitched a ride with the Campsis radicans we cut down to the ground every year and it reaches the second floor unnerved all the same. A place to sit and watch the hummingbirds swirl around...tons of bees and lady bugs...heaven.
