The Rose Society of Scania (Rosensällskapet i Skåne) is associated with The Swedish Rose Society but branched off around 10 years ago and are now a very lively but rather local society. They arrange several activities for their members each year, such as trips to famous rose gardens in Germany and Denmark, in summer "rose fairs", i.e. visits to spectacular gardens of members. This coming Saturday there will be a meeting at a big House (medieval castle outside our town of Kristianstad) where two well-known rose- and garden specialists will give lectures. At the same time there will be coffee, rose lotteries and sales of rose literature. Some members have attended a flower photography course this summer and will exhibit their achievement. These regular meetings are always popular and well visited.
