Most of the world knows it as 'Charles de Gaulle', in memory of the great French statesman -- but New Zealand rosarians prefer to honor one of their own heroes, the writer Katherine Mansfield. Charles de Gaulle became Premier of France on 1 June 1958. Katherine Mansfield was born 14 October 1888.
