Bred by Vincenz Berger (1883 - 1974) (Germany, 1925).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1927 as 'Benedikt Roezl'.

Hybrid Rugosa.  
Bloom:
Carmine-pink.  Strong fragrance.  Large, full (26-40 petals), high-centered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Bushy.  Large, dense, wrinkled (rugose) foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 9b.  Hardy.
