'Trumpeter'. Floribunda. syn. MACtrum. This rose produces clusters of orange-red flowels freely through the season. They hold their color well in all weather but are without scent. The foliage is abundant, healthy and dark green and the growth is vigorous, but short. Bred by McGredy (NZ) and introduced in 1977, lhis is an excellent rose where a strong orange-red is requiired - the color is as strident as any trumpet. ('Satchmo' x seedling). NZ Star of the South Pacific 1977, Portland Gold Medal 1981, RHS Award of Garden Merit 1993, RNRS James Mason Gold Medal 1991. Zones 6-9.
