Origin:
Bred by Fr. (Padre) George M.A. Schoener, SJ (United States, 1930).
Class:
Hybrid Nutkana.  
Bloom:
Light pink to carmine-pink, yellow stamens.  Moderate fragrance.  5 petals.  Average diameter 4".  Large, single (4-8 petals), in small clusters, open bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  Small, pointed buds.  
Habit:
Tall, arching, few or no prickles/thorns, upright.  Medium green foliage.  7 leaflets.  

Height: 8' (245cm).  Width: 4' (120cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Can be used for shrub.  Hardy.  prefers cool sites..

Notes:
Member Kim Rupert says: "The fun thing about Schoener's is if you allow it to set hips, then strip them all off, feed and water it heavily, you can encourage it to repeat its flowering!"
