Origin:
Bred by Cardon (France, before 1830).
Bloom:
Dark purple, violet shading, light purple center, violet reverse. 100 to 140 petals. Average diameter 2.5". Medium, very full (41+ petals), cluster-flowered, semi-globular bloom form. Once-blooming spring or summer. Glandular sepals, leafy sepals buds.
Habit:
Few or no prickles/thorns. Wavy or ruffled foliage. 5 to 7 leaflets.
