Introduced in United Kingdom by Peter Beales Roses
in 1990 as 'Awakening'.
Introduced in Canada by Hortico Inc.
in 1992 as 'Awakening'.
Climber, Hybrid Wichurana, Large-Flowered Climber.
Light pink, salmon-pink shading. Mild to strong fragrance. up to 40 petals. Average diameter 4". Large, full (26-40 petals) bloom form. Occasional repeat later in the season.
Height of 8' to 14' (245 to 425 cm). Width of 8' to 10' (245 to 305 cm).
USDA zone 5b through 9b. Shade tolerant. Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) . Can be grown in the ground or in a container (container requires winter protection). Prune after flowering is finished.
