'JACnuel' rose Description

Bloom:
Mauve or purple blend. Moderate fragrance. 30 petals. Average diameter 4". Large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, high-centered to flat, reflexed bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Long, pointed, ovoid buds.
Habit:
Tall, thornless (or almost), upright. Large, glossy, medium green, dense, leathery foliage.
Height of 7' (215 cm). Width of up to 4' (up to 120 cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default). Can be used for cut flower. Vigorous. Disease susceptibility: very mildew resistant.
Notes:
Jackson & Perkins says Allure has the silver-lavender color of 'Sterling Silver' without any of the production problems... the name was changed from 'Sterling 95' to avoid confusion with the old variety 'Sterling Silver'...
Parentage information comes from the US Patent for this rose. According to the patent, the breeding objective was "to produce a new rose variety having the high production and lack of thorns of the female, combined with the large flowers size, fragrance and long stems of the male parent." Blooms last 6 to 7 days on the plant and 8 to 9 days in a vase. |
