This rose is a MACHINE. "Little" is hysterical as applied to this rose itself and the fact that it figured prominently in the hybridizing of many MINIATURES................the plant is HUGE, simply HUGE and there could easily be an argument for it being reclassed as a SHRUB because the blooms themselves are rather small, really nicely formed, never in my experience anything but one to a stem. The plant is hardy as heck, has gorgeous foliage, had there been a second set of eyes 54-56 this one could have easily "redefined" it all as Queen Elizabeth did because they both do not lend themselves even today to ONE classification...........Little Darling has a very small but very formal bloom so in that sense was/is actually up on Queen.................

Has anyone grown Little Darling in the pacific northwest? How did/does it do?

I garden in the PNW on Vancouver Island and Little Darling does well for me. If the conditions are right, then this rose will get some black spot. Strange name for a rose that if not pruned hard will grow to 4 feet!

YES! One mile from Humboldt Bay in Eureka, CA. In spite of the still functioning mill that blows pollutants our way. This rose is lovely, prolific blooms and overall healthy. Blackspot is a problem in the area, but this rose never gets overwhelmed by it (I DO NOT SPRAY) We had a severe cold snap over winter and the rose has a stronger scent this year. Buds lean toward yellow and pink, full blown it is more white and pink. Will be about 3 ft by end of season. I am going to attempt to upload my photos now.

This rose should be grown by more people! I have had no problems whatsoever out of mine and we are in year three. It has grown from a 6" high seedling, own root, to over 4.5 feet and blooms constantly. As a bonus, at twilight, the blooms appear to glow. I give this a 10 all around for ease of culture, disease resistance, and bloom frequency and color. The one and only minus is there is not much scent in comparison to other roses.
