Bred by Harkness (United Kingdom, 1950).
Class:
Hybrid Rugosa, Shrub.  
Bloom:
Fuchsia / magenta - cerise, light yellow stamens, ages to lighter .  Moderate, opinions vary fragrance.  Average diameter 5".  Large, single (4-8 petals), cluster-flowered, in small clusters bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Medium, bushy, dense, rounded, well-branched.  Glossy, medium green, leathery, wrinkled (rugose) foliage.  
Height of 5' to 6' (150 to 185 cm).  Width of 4' to 5' (120 to 150 cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 3b and warmer.  Can be used for garden, hedge, landscape or shrub.  Hardy.  vigorous.  drought resistant.  produces decorative hips.  Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant.
