Bred by Jean-Pierre Liabaud (France, 1884).
Introduced in Australia by C. F. Newman and Sons - Adelaide in 1894 as 'Monsieur Hoste'.

Hybrid Perpetual.

Bloom:

Crimson. Large, full (26-40 petals) bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.

Habit:

Dark green foliage.

Growing:

USDA zone 6b and warmer. Very vigorous.

Notes:

Hoste (1823 - June 1897 Heuilley-sur-Saône, Côte d'Or), nurseryman in Vaise and Monplaisir, Lyon for roses, chrysanthemes, dahlias. Succeeded by André Charmet in 1895 (Möller's Deutsche Gartenzeitung, July 10, 1897, p. 256)
